Total revenue received by GMADA as earnest money for Aerocity Mohali Project is around Rs 5,700 crore. AEROCITY, the integrated independent township planned over 1,000 mixed use land in Sectors 66 (East) and 82 (East) in the vicinity of upcoming international airport, gave Rs 2,700 crore more to its promoter Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) on Thursday. With this, the total revenue received from the applicants on account of earnest money has reached over Rs 5,700 crore while at least Rs 1,000 crore more is expected to come, a GMADA official told Newsline.
Though the banks have not yet submitted the final reports, around three lakh applications are likely to be received for the allotment of 4,000 freehold plots ranging between 5 marla to 1 kanal.
"According to preliminary reports, applications will be above 2.75 lakh and below 3 lakh, but the exact figure will be known only after receiving the final reports," GMADA Estate Officer (EO) Balbir Singh said.
He said the authorised banks have sought 15 days' time to compile and file the final reports but they have been given 7 days to complete the job and submit the final figures. "Most of the applications are for 5, 6 and 8 marla plots," he revealed.
As per official information, the funds transferred to GMADA account till this evening included State Bank of India Rs 1,700 crore, Oriental Bank of Commerce Rs 825 crore, State Bank of Patiala Rs 600 crore, Union Bank of India Rs 562 crore, Punjab State Cooperative Bank Rs 550 crore, Bank of Baroda Rs 500 crore, Punjab and Sind Bank Rs 352 crore, Punjab Gramin Bank Rs 250 crore, HDFC Bank Rs 230 crore, ICICI Bank Rs 100 crore, Yes Bank Rs 20 crore and Bank of India Rs 10 crore.
A total of 431500 brochures, each priced at Rs 100, sold for the scheme had already fetched GMADA sum of Rs 4.31 crore.
