With local homebuyers waiting for prices to fall further, interest rates remaining high and banks continuing to tighten mortgage lending, Indian real estate developers are increasingly looking towards Non Resident Indians (NRIs) as a source of investment. Especially as NRIs now have 20% more purchasing power than a year ago due to the Rupee at an all time low against the U.S. Dollar.
